The sacral chakra is the second chakra located between your belly button and pubic bone. It is connected to sex, reproduction, creativity, and your emotions. In Sanskrit, it is Svadisthana which means "dwelling place of the self", it's color is orange, the
element is water, and the affirmation is "I Feel". The mantra for this chakra is Vam.
The physical body parts it is related to are the sex organs, pelvis, appendix, bladder, and kidneys. A blocked sacral chakra may cause dysfunctions such as low back pain, sciatica, gynelogical issues, impotence, or bladder/kidney problems. You may feel stifled expressing your feelings and creativity. You may have feelings of shame around sex. Possible causes of the blocks can come from sexual abuse or trauma.
When this chakra is in flow, you are in touch with your creative expression, sexuality, and are able to maintain healthy relationships. Orange foods are excellent to eat for this chakra including oranges, orange peppers, pumpkin, peaches, carrots, and cantaloupe.
Excellent crystal choices to keep in balance are carnelian, sunstone, mookaite, and moonstone. Good choices for essential oils would be Ylang Ylang, lemon, sandalwood, jasmine, and neroli. Affirmations you could use are "I feel safe to express my sexuality" or "I freely allow my creativity to flow".
