The Solar Plexus Chakra

The solar plexus chakra, the third chakra, is located about 2" or so above your navel. This chakra corresponds with your power, personality, self worth, and self esteem. The sanskrit name is Manipura, color is yellow, fire is the element(think sun!), and the affirmation is "I am". The mantra chant is Ram( like raahhhmmm).We can feel anxiety or fear here and it is linked to our digestive system. When blocked, you may have constipation, ulcers, diabetes, indigestion, hepatitis, and fatigue. Repressed anger and control issues related to your personal power may cause dysfunction.

Great things to eat are yellow foods; bananas, squash, yellow peppers, pineapple, and corn. Crystals that work well for this chakra are citrine, amber, yellow tiger's eye, and rutilated quartz. Essential oils that can be used are lemon, lavender, rosemary, and Roman chamomile. Stress reduction techniques such as deep breathing and meditation also will help you feel better about stepping forward with self empowerment to live out your soul's purpose.
